This year Patek Philippe launched six new GRAND COMPLICATIONs watches. The following is Ref. 5208. Ref. 5208 is a triple complication watch with a minute repeater, chronograph and instantaneous perpetual calendar. Ref. 5208 is the first wristwatch of Patek Philippe to integrate various functions. It combines the powerful technical difficulty factor of watchmaking technology into one watch. It is extremely elegant and reliable, meets daily use and attracts the attention of connoisseurs.
The minute repeater design is exquisite. The column wheel chronograph is only 2.4 millimeters thick, and the instantaneous perpetual calendar with a large aperture display restarts its new operation at midnight.
Highly complex movement R CH 27 PS QI (32 mm in diameter; 10.35 mm in height; 5.7 cm3 in volume) consists of 701 parts, most of which are handmade. The movement is mounted on a white gold panel. The Calatrava-style panel is covered with fine parts. The sapphire decoration on the back complements this outstanding craft product. Equally fascinating is the perfect pure gold scale with charcoal-satin mercerization. Ref. 5208 is the most complicated watch after Patek Philippe Tourbillon. This is Patek Philippe’s first minute repeater combined with a chronograph, and it is also a fine watch with automatic winding. In addition, it is also the first Grand Complication watch to truly use the Pulsomax escapement and Spiromax balance spring made of pure silicon obtained from vacuum oxidation. This is the perfect combination of Patek Philippe’s tradition and innovation.
