Zenith is about to launch a new retro-inspired collection: the Heritage 146 watch — inspired by a model from the 1960s, now equipped with the El Primero star-speed movement. The new collection is presented in a retro look with a passionate brown or blue dial, 38 precision column wheel El Primero star speed movement. The Heritage 146 watch subtly reinterprets a very historic model, which is a unique collection that combines the essence of history of Zenith: outstanding design, heavy heritage, and truly rare and hard to find.
Zenith has more than 150 years of history as one of the first watchmaking factories merged with a number of traditional and established watchmakers. Such a long history nourishes today’s plump “almighty” watchmaking brand. Therefore, regular re-interpretation of some iconic vintage watches has naturally become a unique way to praise and carry forward this legend when Zenith.
Retro design, high-precision ‘engine’
The source of inspiration for this new collection — the 1960s model is equipped with a 146D movement, which has a balance wheel vibration rate of 18,000 vibrations / hour, which guarantees a power reserve of 38 hours, displays hours and minutes, and displays at 9 o’clock The small seconds at the position is also the same as the HODINKEE limited edition launched in 2016. The new Heritage 146 watch is equipped with a long central seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a tachymeter scale. This is a column wheel chronograph movement equipped with an automatic oscillating weight decorated with ‘Geneva Ripples’. It contains 254 parts and meets the requirements of various standards for precision astronomical watches. Accuracy and power reserve of more than 50 hours. This high-frequency mechanism is built into a 38-mm-diameter, vintage-style stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 50 meters, with a grooved crown and two round buttons.
